Karaoke Night at the Clubhouse 13/07/11

Lots of popular songs were sung, and there was plenty of popcorn. We all had a great time but were sad to say goodbye to Shirat who has been with us at Big Brothers for a year now. Shirat, you will be missed!

Start the Summer Funfair 28/06/11

A Fun Day for pairs from Jerusalem and Gush Etzion was created as part of the MaraTani Organization’s project, ‘Chain-of-Giving’. The event took place at the Natural History Museum in Jerusalem, and stalls were manned by graduates from MaraTani. Big and Little Brothers and Sisters had a lot of fun taking part. Events included trampolining, a petting zoo, arts and crafts, bowling, baking bread, make-up corner. Special thanks goes to Benjamin, our cartoonist for the day. The day ended with a variety of group activities accompanied by light snacks and cakes.
Overall a fantastic day!

Celebrations took place in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. In Jerusalem we had a lovely bonfire in a garden in the Baq'a area, and in Tel Aviv Big Brothers Big Sisters of Israel was once again a guest of Kibbutz Einat. Lots of potatoes and marshmallows were eaten!

Soccer Practice 05/05/11

The Tel Aviv branch of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Israel was invited to soccer practice at "Hapoel" Tel Aviv. Children met the soccer players, and each received their own T-shirt signed by the whole team. Training itself included all the pairs who came together to encourage the players before an important league game.

Volunteer Pub Night 26/04/11

A fun night out for volunteers took place at Big Brother Elad's pub in the Florentine neighborhood of Tel Aviv. Thanks go to Elad for hosting us! Almost all our volunteers came along, and the evening was very enjoyable and exciting. The night also doubled up as a farewell party for our Branch Manager who was about to go on maternity leave.

Evening seminar 04/03/11

We held an evening seminar for our volunteers made up of two lectures:

1. Three Men in a Boat: child - parent - older brother, and the dynamics between them, with Dana Sachs
2. Mentoring and coaching – combining the two, with Noa and Ron

Sukkot Arts and Crafts 20/09/10

Our pairs met at the Jerusalem Clubhouse to make colorful decorations for the festival of Sukkot.

Summer Pool Party 27/08/10

We held a fun pool day for 10 of our pairs, courtesy of Beit HaLochim. Our pairs spent quality time together, laughing and playing in the water. The day was a fun and exciting experience for all involved: Big and Little Brothers and Sisters and all the staff who came along.

Fun Day in the Park 30/08/10

We organized a number of activities for our pairs in HaYarkon Park in Tel Aviv. Children enjoyed playing with the animals at the park zoo while Big Brothers and Sisters provided refreshments, and came up with games for families to take part in. One of our Big Brothers, Shachar, organized lots of "science experiment" games using recycled materials for the children. And as at all events, we wished a happy birthday to a few of our participants and to the two years we had celebrated together.

Fun Day at the Natural History Museum in Jerusalem

Together with the volunteer organization MaraTani (Chain of Giving), we hosted a fun day full of activities. A nice combination of Big and Little Brothers and Sisters, Mothers, and Staff came along. MaraTani provided arts and crafts, bread baking, bowling and more. There were also plenty of tasty treats, and a tour of the museum's petting zoo.

Community Fair at Tel Aviv University 07/06/10

The event took place in cooperation with the Student Association and Faculty of Law. Students who wanted to become volunteer mentors, representatives of the Associations, and many others helped out in a number of different ways to promote Big Brothers Big Sisters of Israel.

Hillel House Discussion Evening 25/05/10

On the campus of Mount Scopus. A discussion for real change, (not just a facebook status update). The event featured: former MK Charlie Biton, the professor Hadar Elior, faculty members, and our staff. The meeting rounded of a joint project between Brothers Big Sisters of Israel, the organization "MiMizrach Shemesh" (From East of the Sun) and Beit Hillel.

Outdoor Challenge Day 06/05/10

A day of jumping, wrestling, climbing and general fun for our Bigs and Littles at our Gush Etzion branch. Thanks to "The Bagel Place" who contributed lots of tasty things to eat, and Miriam, the branch manager, who made cakes especially for the occasion.

Lag B'Omer Tel Aviv branch 29/04/10

A party for pairs from our Tel Aviv branch, held at Kibbutz Einat. Activities included baking bread, making lots of other delicious food, games, quizzes and more. Everyone had a blast and as soon as the night ended we were all already thinking about the next Big Brothers event!
