Board

 

The Executive Board, made up of ten members, in July 2011 established four sub-committees in order to promote the growth of BBBS. These new committees are:

Steering
The steering committee is responsible for:

  • Setting rules and procedures.
  • Discussing Board issues such as how to get members to the Board and how to select a committee chairman.
  • Providing assistance in locating and selecting officials for the organization.
  • Presenting an annual program which includes coordination between the different committees within the organization.
  • Setting regular goals.

Events
The events committee produces an annual fundraising event as well as other major fundraising events throughout the year.

Honorary Board of BBBS
Our honorary Board is responsible for setting up and maintaining a network of friends.

Professional Development
Responsible for:

  • Coordinating and advising the main activities of the organization.
  • Recruiting Big Brothers and Sisters.
  • Providing professional assistance to the Big Brothers and Sisters who are currently part of the organization.
  • Creating tools for continued research and learning within the organization.

 

 Our board:

1. Mr. Yossi Dror Freier, Chairperson, holds a Masters Degree in Research Psychology and is founder and Manager of Mashav – an organization that specializes in carrying out applied and theoretical research in organizational and marketing fields. He is also a lecturer at several academic institutions on the topic of Research Methods and Statistics. Yossi is conducting an evaluation of the organization to assess levels of change and satisfaction regarding the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. Yossi has been mentoring a young man for over 20 years.

2. Ms. Michal Bracha has her MBA in economics and administration from Tel Aviv University with an expertise in marketing. With over 15 years of marketing experience in the Israeli investment world, Michal was the Managing Director of Marketing for CIBC Israel and now serves as the Marketing Director for the Oppenheimer Company.

3. Mr. Daniel Brandriss, Big Brother, is a graduate of the faculty of law at the Hebrew University. Daniel has been a Big Brother for the past three and a half years and has been assisting the organization in many capacities over the past couple of years. Daniel has been interviewed by the media on several occasions for BBBS and has had much success representing our organization.

4. Mr. Sarel Cohen, Adv., Big Brother, has his Bachelor’s Degree in law and is a certified arbitrator. He is a partner in the Abramovitz-Cohen law office and specializes in civil business and litigation, working on many cases pro-bono. Sarel volunteers as a Big Brother and also advises the organization regarding legal issues.

5. Ms. Huti Pomrenze earned a Bachelors of Fine Arts from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Living in Israel for the last 10 years, she created “Kad v’Chomer”, one of the first paint-your-own-ceramic studios in the country and after ten years of operations, she recently donated her business to the International Cultural Center for Youth in Jerusalem. Huti is active in the community in a variety of volunteer positions.

6. Mr. Eytan Schwartz, a writer and editor of a variety of television programs, delivers an editorial feature on the Channel 2 television station. He also serves as a member of the team developing an international strategy agenda for the city of Tel Aviv. As a result of his winning the ‘Ambassador’ television program, he has considerable experience working with the foreign press. One of the founders of the Commission for Darfur Refugees, Eytan previously volunteered in the Tzeva organization and volunteers today at the Jaffa Community Center.

7. Ms. Chana Shua, Treasurer worked at The Hebrew University for over 40 years, the last 30 of which she spent as the Comptroller of the Faculty of Law. In appreciation of her service to the Faculty, she was awarded the Prize for Outstanding Contribution.

8. Mr. Yonaton Toledano is a graduate of the Hebrew University with a Masters Degree in Public Administration and Policy. Yonaton is owner and CEO of the Uto Technology and Information company that provides technology consultation and guidance for the Oracle company.

9. Mr. Ronen Topel has over 20 years experience in the field of marketing and business development and is presently an independent marketing consultant and business coach. A kibbutz member, Ronen has a great deal of experience working with youth in Israel and overseas.

10. Ms. Esther Shamama has a Bachelors degree in law and an MBA in Finance. Esther graduated with honors from Bar-Ilan University, and currently owns a law firm that has offices in both Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, specializing in real estate and commercial litigation. Esther represents a variety of clients, from leading marketing companies to real estate agencies. Esther also lectures in various forums and gives advanced courses on real estate with the company Tickshoret Puzzle.
