Successful Past Projects
Green Group Mentoring (2009-2010) engaged children (fifth and sixth grade girls) to in an experience shared with peers as well as with Big Brothers and Big Sisters. Ecology focused activities took place in the Big Brothers Big Sisters garden. The children learned about the environment, nature's cycles, and themselves. JDC-Israel's "City of "Nesiya" group mentoring involved Nesiya teens (10th to 12th graders) taking part in in weekly gatherings with 5th and 6th graders and their Big Brothers and Sisters (2008-2009). Weekly meetings combined individual and group experiences which empowered the children. The "Havura" project brought together teens in need of mentoring, with young professionals. These pairs went on camping trips together, attended plays, and had lots of fun together both as a group, and one-on-one, over the course of a number of years.
